This is just terrific. I found myself actually screaming while watching it. You could easily see it as a sequel, and it's so captivating and memorable even with its deconstructionist approach to the original. It made me wanna watch the original movie again! I really wish there could be a theater gathering like "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" where everyone recites the lines together. It would be even better if the soundtrack had even more of that big fuzz like in the movie. In fact, I love it so much that I'm willing to binge-watch all 8 episodes while having a high fever.

It's fantastic. It actually brought the majority of the characters to life, instead of just the expected story progression of defeating villains one after another. It's a truly great story in which I witnessed the growth and perseverance of the "true" protagonist - Ramona. It is not important whether the adaptation strictly adheres to the original or takes significant liberties, as long as the result turns out good. And this one is really good.

I recommend reading the comics or watching the live-action movie before diving into this because this version is a reinterpretation and deconstruction of the entire Scott Pilgrim story world. Everyone is so adorable! Can we have a sequel? This is the best animated show I've seen in 2023. And I'm really thankful that they didn't introduce a multiverse setup! Let's goooooooo!

The animated version isn't a simple remake of the original work or the movie, instead, it's a result of the reimagination and deconstruction of them, something akin to the making of "Barbie". It makes the "true" protagonist “disappear" while making the symbolic Ramona the lead role. Even Edgar Wright was called "Edgar Wrong" this time (what a cheesy pun). These changes add a human touch to the previously straightforward monster-battling story, giving more dimensions to the characters' personalities. This coupled with excellent framing and various fun references made this movie an innovative and superior entry into the series.

The beginning of the plot looks like a typical live-action film, with major changes only gradually appearing later on. Scott transitions from battling evil exes to facing his past self. With the incorporation of time-traveling mechanics, Ramona seamlessly becomes the protagonist in this animated remake, who goes on investigating Scott's disappearance and gradually reconciles with her past exes. The entire voice cast from the live-action film continues to voice the characters in this animated version. I thought it was being produced by an American animation studio when I watched the trailer. But to my surprise, it was produced by a Japanese animation company. The art style is very adorable while also faithfully capturing the original’s style. Fans of the film won't be disappointed with this animated adaptation.

It actually isn't a faithful adaptation of the comic series, rather, it is more of a reimagined, fan-fiction-style version of the original work like how "Barbie" ended up becoming. It's like they took "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" and turned it into "The World vs. Scott Pilgrim." It's not a baseless adaptation disrespecting the original work, but more like a mature and post-modernist upgrade both in form and in message. It also answers the questions that have been puzzling me all along—Scott can defeat her seven evil exes to win over Ramona's heart, but does Ramona really love him? Will he end up becoming her eighth evil ex?

É simplesmente fantástico – eu me peguei realmente gritando enquanto assistia.
