Tokyo Revengers (2021)★ 8.0/10

I haven’t read the manga, but the anime was more engaging than expected. Despite some odd character designs, they all looked pretty cool.

It's a mix of clichés - the underdog winning the day paired with elements of time travel and delinquent drama. Unfortunately, I didn’t finish the manga and found the live-action adaptation's plot and character development lacking.

The pacing feels rushed, complicating the storytelling and making the action sequences less impactful. I mean, It had potential to do much better.

Tokyo Revengers is of decent quality, in fact, it actually reignited some of my passion for anime. However, the series suffers from narrative flaws that detract from its overall impact.

Initially, the series was addictive, but as the time travelling became repetitive, it grew tiresome. The protagonist doesn't think about changing his circumstances nor put in effort to do so, allowing situations to spiral out of control. Such a waste of potential given his unique abilities.

Tokyo Revengers portrays the fiery spirit and inspirational journey of an underdog. However, the main flaw lies in the questionable choices of the protagonist, who consistently fails to act on his knowledge, leading to significantly flawed decisions. This issue points to either poor character development or a flawed portrayal in the animation.

Tokyo Revengers is one of the best anime of 2021. The plot is amazing and very intense, the character development is wonderful, and the time-travel storyline is applied exceptionally well.

Inicialmente, a série era viciante, mas à medida que a viagem no tempo se tornou repetitiva, tornou-se cansativa. O protagonista não pensa de maneira crítica sobre mudar suas circunstâncias nem faz muito esforço, permitindo que as situações saiam do controle. Um grande desperdício de potencial, dadas as suas habilidades únicas.
