The Spanishs excel at creating series that seem like crime thrillers, but actually delve into the essence of human nature. Following "The Platform," "Money Heist" portrays robbers not purely as villains while the police are also not purely embodiments of justice, showcasing the volatile nature of humanity during the intense five-day heist.

"Money Heist" essentially uses the crime genre to discuss an economic principle. Paper money, merely issued by the government and circulated through banks, is just paper. People work tirelessly to create value with their hard work, striving to earn as much paper as possible. After fulfilling their needs, they deposit the excess in banks, only to watch their surplus labor devalue due to inflation. It makes one wonder where the additional value they've created goes or what it becomes.

My first roller coaster ride in years

For the first two seasons, I give this a yes. The rest I'll overlook. But the reason why this was such a phenomenon when it started is so so valid- not only do I agree with it, but I'm so glad I enjoyed the hype at the right time. Still worth a watch because we'll be talking about this for years to come.

And I-I-I... Will always love you!

I don't care what people say or how bad they hate on the show, I'll always love it, flaws and all. Each character is their own universe and its a heist narrative told like no other: iconic- period.

Came in with a bang, left with a... baaang.

Came in with a bang and I was honestly the biggest fan, even picked up some Spanish from it and quoted direct lines. But damn, did they make a mess of it after they started making (and getting) tons of money. And the ending truly almost felt like an attempt at pleasing whatever fan-base stuck with it.

Cheers to the best cast ever

The overall premise of the show is great, but what made it a "cultural phenomenon" were its amazingly developed characters. The fact that they were given rich backstories and that the actors were so perfectly casted made for the perfect series, and as an added asset, its final season was released during the pandemic so viewers had nothing better to do.

It's been over for a while

I’m so tired of they trying to create new plots even though there are nothing else that’s interesting to tell. Thanks God it’s almost over.

My favorite

I love the show since day one and I still can’t accept they are ending it after just 5 seasons. I could watch 5 more.

The real deal

Contains spoilers
My favorite thing about this show is how brave they are when dealing with deaths. They are very realistic.

Great start

Seasons 1 and 2 are masterpieces. The story is interesting, characters are deep and the twists are amazing.

All about the money

I don’t know why they kept renovating this show even after it made no sense anymore. Why, Netflix? Why?

What a group of people

This show has an amazing group of characters, I can’t choose a favorite. I do blame it on the cast.
