This TV show is just okay. The plot is boring and nothing special, so I got tired after two episodes. It's like a sappy drama with a medical backdrop, where nothing too serious ever really happens. It feels too ideal. Interestingly, some side characters have more interesting stories than the main ones, but the music is good. In general, it's soothing but a bit boring. It's just a decent, run-of-the-mill TV show.

The story really pulls you in and holds your attention without wandering off. Personally, I'm not too invested in the male lead, but the other main doctors are doing a great job. This hospital caters to the lower-income community, and the diverse casting reflects that reality, which also makes me kinda sad. It's only in shows that delve into the lives of the underprivileged that you truly see diversity shine through. Honestly, this is the most impoverished and run-down hospital I've seen in medical dramas.

The 17th episode is just so heart-wrenching, making it the most emotionally challenging one yet. However, using a power outage as a plot twist in the first season makes me wonder if the following storyline might feel less compelling. Furthermore, this show really tries to convey the theme of "love saves the day," giving off the impression that emotions can solve just about anything. This portrayal can make the show feel excessively idealistic and detached from reality, painting the hospital as a place straight out of a fairy tale. It all seems too good to be true, especially considering the harsh realities of life. Perhaps the show aims to offer viewers solace and highlight the world's beauty. But has it indeed achieved that?

This show is so cheesy and tries way too hard, with some scenes cringeworthy to make me want to pull my hair out. Despite its name, "New Amsterdam," it feels really OLD-school. It seems interested in something other than tackling systemic issues or delving into the complexities of life. Instead, it has ditched the unique appeal of medical dramas. It simply focuses on depicting the everyday lives of healthcare workers, almost like a story from a decade or two ago. While an old-school style can be good, presenting an old-school story in such a lackluster way is truly disappointing, and it's a shame to see the talents of the attractive cast going to waste.

New Amsterdam embodies idealism with its recurring theme of helping others. On his first day, the medical director introduces a patient-centered approach, cutting the overcharging cardiology department and repurposing idle staff to better serve patients, highlighting the show's focus on patient care over profit.

I was initially worried that New Amsterdam would turn into a sentimental version of weekly episodic-based cases, but fortunately, it didn't. The story of a terminally ill lead, a generous and professional female lead, and a studious but timid male character reforming certain bad aspects of healthcare is heartwarming and healing.

A história de uma protagonista com doença terminal, uma protagonista profissional e um personagem masculino estudioso, mas tímido, que muda certos aspectos ruins da saúde é comovente.

Al principio, me preocupaba que New Amsterdam se convertiría en una versión sentimental de los casos semanales episódicos, pero por suerte, no ocurrió. La historia de un protagonista terminalmente enfermo, una protagonista generosa y profesional y un personaje masculino estudioso y tímido que reforman ciertos aspectos malos de la atención médica es conmovedora y sanadora.

Esse programa de TV é bem mediano. O enredo é chato e não tem nada de especial, por isso me cansei depois de dois episódios. É como um drama sentimental com um pano de fundo médico, em que nada muito sério acontece de fato. Parece ideal demais. É engraçado que até alguns personagens secundários têm histórias mais interessantes do que os principais, mas a música é boa. Em geral, é tranquilo, mas um pouco entediante. É apenas um programa de TV decente e comum.

A história realmente atrai você e prende sua atenção sem desviar o foco. Pessoalmente, não sou muito fã do protagonista, mas os outros médicos principais estão fazendo um ótimo trabalho. Esse hospital atende à comunidade de baixa renda, e a diversidade do elenco reflete essa realidade, o que também me deixa um pouco triste. É somente em seriados que se aprofundam na vida dos menos favorecidos que você realmente vê a diversidade brilhar. Sinceramente, esse é o hospital mais pobre e degradado que já vi em dramas médicos.
