As much as talked about ATTACK ON TITAN is, I have to say, the hype is justified rather well, I loved this series and I completely understand why it is so talked about.
Definitely a Must-Watch.

Who said the ending was disappointing? This ending is incredible! The idea of stopping the war because of personal love is brilliant, as opposed to the clichéd grand love for life, the world, the people, and even the disasters. Often in these grand narratives, personal love is belittled as selfish and insignificant. yet, these grand narratives themselves often make no sense and are full of absurdity and hypocrisy. The truth is, these personal loves are what's real and relatable. There is always going to be a difference between idealism and reality. Overall, it's an amazing show with so many things to praise it for. Lastly, I'd like to say this to whoever is looking at my review - Do not forget the past.

The final chapter proves this anime's anti-war stance in a strong pessimistic tone, rather than the idea of zero tolerance for defeats on the battlefields which was what some people described it as online. The ending of the final season is a strong representation of the author's standpoint on the subject matter. He has no faith in humanity and believes that war will never end. But at the same time, through the voices of the main characters, he expresses his unwavering determination to never be a supporter of war. The efforts of the characters undoubtedly ended up a failure as the ending song reveals a world of dense urbanization and technological advancement, in which war continues. The tree, under which Eren was buried, stands as a witness until nuclear bombs leveled the world. Nature soon reclaims it and a boy with a dog eventually finds a tree hole in the wasteland, thus ushering in a new cycle of humanity.

How could anyone say that the ending was bad? Eren has always been just an ordinary person, and the ending reflects truly how ordinary people face crisis and fate. It's sad and painful to see that he has already done his best. The Easter egg at the end reflects the true beliefs of the author: war never ends, and the fleeting happy ending of the main characters can't break the inevitable cycle of struggles in humanity. Whether one likes or dislikes the ending might be determined by whether he is a supporter of free will or the idea of fate.

7/10. A determinist narrative like this can only end up crumpling inward, becoming nothing but a metaphor for the past and the inevitable future. When the nine major Titans from the past appear one by one, a part of this metaphor is materialized - the past continues to exert influences on the present. The characters are still doing their best while being totally oblivious to the grand scheme of things. It is this resilience and the positive spirit against the inevitable fate that truly makes the story successful and its audience captivated. Lastly, I’d like to show my sincere appreciation for the series. I looked out of the window after the show had concluded and almost felt a sense of relief knowing that it was all just a fictional story.

A Legendary masterpiece has come to an end. It's not perfect, but it did an excellent job driving home the point that humans never ever learn from history. Goodbye, Eren Yeager. Goodbye, Survey Corps. Goodbye, Attack on Titan.

Rather than saying it is Imai Arifumi's involvement that contributed to the making of the best anime of the year, it makes more sense to say that MAPPA studio has effectively compensated for Hajime Isayama's lack of abilities in handling the subject of love in the original work (also the main reason for the disappointing ending). After more than a decade of keeping up with the show, having witnessed Hajime Isayama deviating further and further away from what the series initially set out to be. Regardless, his work definitely left a significant mark on the industry (for better or worse). It's going to be hard to find another series like this that is as profound as it is entertaining. Farewell, Titans!

In order to make it plausible for an idiot to gain immense power, the ending had to be designed this way. It's no surprise that the savior of the world in the show is some kid who tries to teach you his "righteous" values. Hajime Isayama might not be able to give you an answer to achieving world peace, but he surely can show you what hot-blooded Shōnen manga is all about.

I probably would have thought that the ending was bad ten years ago. But now that I've reached an age where I no longer believe in the existence of true "freedom" in the world, the ending actually made me emotional. I think anyone struggling with nihilism should watch it for the reassurance and consolation it provides. Aside from the laughable motives of The Founding Titan, the final chapter still possesses the same solemnity and grandeur as the previous chapters.
