Big Little Lies (2017)★ 8.4/10

By FAR one of the best productions on television. The editing on the first season is so crazy beautiful and heartwrenching.

Pretty good thriller-ish drama, but I felt like the plot-twists kept getting constantly postponed to create these "oop" moments, and they eventually didn't pack the same punch while also becoming a bit unbalanced with the heavy-handed drama. The cast really made the best out of a draining context and the eventual pretty basic character.

Loved this show, incredible cast, incredible pacing, binged the first season in no time. The second one felt like a bit of a stretch, albeit a worthy one, but Idk why just didn't pack the same punch. Plus Zoe Kravitz was so, so much more of the star she is, and the cast as a whole delivered more in-sync performances, in a way, I felt, in the first one- even though the second one did have Meryl Streep, which always gets brownie points.

Incredible cast, it's a female takeover, and I love how they created a second season and went so creatively, yet seamlessly, off the books. One does not need to mention THE Meryl Streep owns that second season, though I really hoped since they did take that leap, they'd maybe go for a third one.

It's definitely a juicy drama worth watching. The acting is phenomenal all around, no doubt, and the writing wraps it all together with a shining bow. However, those of us who did read the book, we know the story lost some of its essence and character in the adaptation. I just wonder why everything has to become so ~Americanized for it to be peddled on to the masses, it's no surprised they forced a non-existent second season later on. Sigh.
