Similar to “Moonlight”, sexuality is the centre of the film, but there’s so much at play too. Being an immigrant, Chinese, and past her youth, Feng Xia's story is so complex and multi-layered, and it's captured with such tenderness. I love that Montreal is a character in this film as well. The city brings a charm to the film that makes it incomparable to any other film.
Highly recommend this Canadian masterpiece.
