This movie is pretty enjoyable if you don't overthink it. But I was a bit disappointed because I had specific expectations. Still, the pacing is great; it's very polished, following a classic three-act structure. Every character, from the main guy to the bad guy, is well-developed and has multiple layers. The female lead hates her dad because she saw her mom being abused, and she ends up turning him in, which is also why she breaks up with the male lead when she sees him beating someone. The male lead, on the other hand, rebels and gets out of control because he didn't have a mom growing up.

This movie is pretty well-made. The script is solid, the acting is impressive, and the lighting and scenery are amazing. The storytelling is tight and efficient, the casting is perfect, and the characters feel real and well-rounded. The female lead's portrayal is especially great. And the scenes when she's dreaming about her childhood and turns into a kid in a wardrobe are impressively well done. Compared to the male lead, she feels better developed as a character and easier to relate to.

I'd give this movie a 6.5 out of 10. It's all about modern youth, and the girl is someone who loves to party, race cars, and do something wild. This film once mentions why girls always go for the bad boys, and it's something I'm curious about too. Anyway, it's been a while since I've seen such a charming guy like this in a youth genre film. And I'm guessing the sequel might be about the lovers being separated and dealing with the male lead's issues with his mom, based on how it ends. But let's hope it's not just another "After" rip-off.

The story might be a little clichéd, but it does well to show all that sexual tension and highlight the guy's charm. He's like a jack-of-all-trades, showing off his skills one after another. He has something that draws you in when he plays the laid-back, bad boy. But then he gets serious, and it's kind of funny in a way. And don't even get me started on the girl's racing scenes; they're amazing! As for the parents, even though they don't get a lot of romantic time on screen, you can feel how much they love each other in those two key scenes. When it shows how they met and when he pays the ransom and takes a bullet for her, it's just really touching.

This is a perfect coming-of-age film. It deftly navigates between heavy, sorrowful emotions and elements of horror, making it perhaps the most touching horror film I've seen, or the most terrifying family film. The family members protect each other, facing darkness together and combating evil. On the surface, it's a battle against monsters, but in reality, it's the family emerging from the shadow of a loved one's passing. The father comes to understand his child, and the child steps up to shoulder responsibility, all in the process of protecting their loved ones. This resonates with the emotional depth that Avatar 2 brought me. The horror framework enhances this theme, presenting a rich tapestry of emotions and experiences. It's truly deserving of the title of the best film of the year. Nothing more could be said besides giving it full marks.

Perhaps constrained by the original source material and commercial filmmaking conventions, "The Boogeyman" comes across as a rather formulaic American horror film, lacking surprises in both plot development and character portrayal. For Rob Savage, this might be an overly conservative adherence to convention, resulting in a pacing that falls short of expectations. However, Savage still manages to showcase his commendable talent for crafting scares within this traditional framework, effectively maintaining a chilling atmosphere throughout. While the reveal of the boogeyman's true form feels somewhat anticlimactic, there's one standout visual design towards the end. Unfortunately, the supporting cast falls short of expectations.

The director has great finesse, every scene is oozing with romance and details. The meticulous execution elevates the film to a whole new level. As one grows older, the desire for lighter, less mentally taxing content increases. With this film, it's like indulging in a plethora of charmingly simplistic love stories, providing ample eye candy for both men and women.

With a complete narrative structure, impeccable aesthetics, and nuanced intimate scenes, My Fault encapsulates what it means to experience "intense love" on every level, from the spiritual to the physical. It's as effective, if not more so, than indulging in online romantic novels. While Nick's mother's storyline remains unexplored in this installment, the concluding dialogue between the parents hints at a potential sequel, leaving audiences eagerly anticipating what's to come.
