Core elements like character design and the central storyline remain intact, and the addition of new characters brings some freshness. Newcomer Maia Kealoha brings both heart and energy to Lilo. That said, the CGI in the opening outer-space sequence is subpar, and Stitch’s canine disguise feels far less believable in a realistic setting.
