For an exorcism movie, it's surprisingly solid. The character arcs and the exorcism procedures are quite creative, and I've never seen a demon like that before. But towards the end, it kinda slips into the same old routine, following the typical three-step exorcism formula. The pacing is spot-on, but the content feels kinda lacking overall.

It's another movie based on a true story, and it seems like SONY is trying to build their own "The Conjuring Universe." The script brings some new life to the traditional exorcism story, and the director did a solid job infusing the film with a touch of playful humor. The climax is a little underwhelming, and the characters' backgrounds could use more depth. But overall, the movie is rather entertaining.

It's a dark adventure in the styles of Supernatural (the tv series), so if you don't go in expecting a suspenseful horror, you will enjoy it!

This motorcycle-riding, secretly sultry priest is a total heart-stealer! (or in Gen Z lingo, he SLAYS) Humorous, rebellious and suave, Russell Crowe’s acting is still unbeatable and full of charm. The film has surprisingly given up on creating a scary atmosphere but it keeps audiences intrigued, making them stay curious about how the plot is going to develop. It also successfully turns a simple plot into a tight-paced, interesting film, and in short, is the best exorcism movie in recent years.

The secularized priest and the outspoken demonic figure somehow make the serious and solemn genre narrative unfold. It's a simple commercial movie.

The most traditional kind of exorcism movie I've seen in recent years, which is kind of a rarity these days. Looking forward to the next one.

The film is below average, and the religious atmosphere and Russell's charisma make this movie look interesting, unlike other films showing on same period which are boring except for the major scenes. It's not scary with a very realistic exorcism, and the special effects added at the end for the climax are kinda like Harry Potter.

I thought it was an anti-exorcism movie, because most of the people who were possessed were sent to a psychiatrist. But it turns out it's actually an exorcism movie, just a little too generic and basically using the same old tricks. The framework is pretty big, and it's made to look like it's based on real events, but in fact, there is nothing new, and there's a lot of bullshit.

The cinematography is great and the images are full and textured. The story is tightly paced with the demonic possession by the evil and the search for truth going hand in hand, but it gets a little routine later in the story, coupled with a very simple successful exorcism which is kinda anticlimax and didn't blow me away. The movie shows the weakness of the exorcists and their inner nightmares through their repentance and redemption. But the characterisation of the priests feels a bit scattered.

The horror aspect is very cheesily filmed, the special effects have a defiantly magical feel to them, and the exorcism ritual is so simple it looks like you're playing a game. It's not depressing enough, much less scary, but the story is fresh and interesting. The characterization is thin, but the tight plot pacing effectively allows one to overlook these flaws, and Russell Crowe's superb acting elevates the entire movie. That's it. Not bad, and I look forward to the next movie.

caralho, ruim demais! Forçou a barra tentando mostrar o padre Amoth versão "cool todo mundo vai gostar" e poxa, coitadinha da igreja católica, é tudo sempre culpa do tinhoso.

O padre e a figura demoníaca fazem com que a narrativa séria e solene do gênero se desenvolva. É um filme comercial simples.
