The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special (2022)★ 7.2/10

I watched this short film after "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3", and it filled in a lot of gaps for me. When I saw "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" in the theater, the beginning felt strange and abrupt - how did they manage to set up a base in such a desolate place, then suddenly Adam Warlock was there, and then they were fighting him before I knew it? The short film also deepened the relationships between the Guardians, while also revealing that Groot has grown up and no longer enjoys video games, amongst numerous other Easter eggs. It also sets the emotional tone for what's to come in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3”.
