Augustine_HouseSeptember 2, 2024As I kept watching, it got smoother and funnier. The plot was predictable, and the overall execution was pretty average. The movie starts to be funny in the middle part, and that actually made me see how well the two main characters were meant to be together. I liked seeing how complex their love was amidst all the chaos and violence.

88impressiveAugust 24, 2024That 80s electronic retro style is right up my alley. It's got a funny, witty vibe, with some hilarious "what the heck" moments thrown in. The title gives you a hint of what's going on, and the whole "killing the father" thing is always a powerful way to break free from those old-school, patriarchal rules. And the last five minutes are a wild ride – surprise, fantasy, emotion, humor – all mixed together in a way that really sticks with you.

Aubrey_RodgersAugust 24, 2024This movie has a cool retro vibe, with the story's background set earlier. The visuals and music are top-notch and really set the mood. But the ending wasn't quite as strong. The part where the girl decides to confront her dad after finding out about the other girl just feels a little off, like it throws off the more realistic tone the movie had going on before that.

Arielle_RainesJuly 22, 2024This movie's got a cool blend of progressive and traditional vibes. It's progressive because it shows this deep, meaningful connection between two women. You can see the beauty, the rise, of female empowerment. It's super relatable and it is a fresh take. But it also has that "traditional" touch, telling the story of two lovers battling against family and patriarchy. And with all its twists and turns, eerie visuals, and charming details, this is a super entertaining movie for sure.

oldOliverJuly 22, 2024A24 Studios is always on point with its movies, taking bits and pieces from different time periods to show how the past and present connect. This one's no different, diving deep into what real female power is all about—not needing anyone or anything else, just trusting yourself, love, and being loved back. But even with that deep message, the story didn't quite land for me, and the lonely, wild west setting was a bit too much.

Peter_CainJuly 22, 2024This film has a retro visual style, and it shows off the chemistry between these women in a captivating way. The emotions between the two main characters are intriguing, mixing masculine strength with feminine subtlety. Even with all the sex and violence, the actors do such an amazing job that you can't help but stay engrossed throughout the movie. You'll be left with a lasting impression of their charm and coolness.

Blaine_HortonJuly 22, 2024This movie's got some serious masculine vibes going on with the cinematography, but it's all about these two ladies who are totally killing it. It's definitely a feminist move, trying to knock down the excessive masculinity in films. But some of the emotions, blood, and guts feel more like mere shock values than a deep message.

Rudy_PerkinsMay 22, 2024This movie has a unique and cult-like style. It's impressive how they managed to create such a stylish film despite having a weak script. The character set-up and the resolution of conflicts can be seen as a satirical commentary on patriarchy, and I love that. The chaotic and fragmented editing enhances the cultish vibe, and their aim seems to be pure madness and exhilaration. The story may be lacking, but the stylistic expression is undeniably cool.

Grant_CortezMay 22, 2024This movie cleverly intertwines themes of homosexuality and crime thriller while offering a fresh female perspective on both genres. It constantly subverts traditional female roles, showing strong characters who can protect themselves and others but also have moments of impulsiveness and recklessness. The movie beautifully portrays the intimate and romantic aspects of their relationship and the vulnerabilities, jealousy, and suspicion that arise within it.

Franklin_DennisApril 5, 2024Intriguing and enchanting, this is a tale of Bonnie and a gender-swapped Clyde on a fantastical night of adventure. Rose Glass crafts a new kind of femme fatale, one that's lethal and muscular, with clever references to Gulliver's Travels in the film.

clarkon1985April 5, 2024A madcap feminist lesbian film that not only delights in its eccentricity but also offers a clear critique of patriarchal norms. It’s the unpredictability and constant subversion of the audience's expectations is what make this movie so engaging, offering a fresh take on power dynamics between the film and its viewers.

Lucas_McneilApril 4, 2024If you break down this script like you do with plays, you'll notice the characters' motivations are weak, and the constant "I love you" lines lack depth. Plus, showcasing sexual minorities by focusing on male attractiveness isn't a wise choice. It looks like they aimed to mimic "Titane" in this movie, but they just don't have what it takes to pull it off.
