The Norwegian documentary ibelin, which won the Sundance Audience Award, is really good. I don’t know why the judges chose another Norwegian film, A New Kind of Wilderness.
World of Warcraft is really a conscientious server, storing all the conversations and logs of the character ibelin, so that the documentary director was able to organize and summarize more than 4,000 pages of documents and reconstruct his experience in the game world. Two Norwegian documentaries are about loss and memory. Ibelin is remembered by his family as a young man in a wheelchair whose life was taken away by muscular dystrophy; as a good man who inspired everyone in the Starlight group of Warcraft, he is remembered by game partners in the form of online grave sweeping every year; and now he is also regarded as a game that connects the two worlds of reality and virtuality,a celluloid hero is remembered by movie audiences.
