The Babysitter (2017)★ 6.8/10

It's been a while since a Hollywood script embraced this kind of tight coherence—every setup pays off later with satisfying precision. Though the vibrant palette makes it feel more like a teen flick than a horror film, and the jump scares rely heavily on sound cues rather than visual creativity, there's undeniable charm in its structure.

A surprisingly fun horror-comedy that follows a bullied boy’s journey to self-empowerment, now spiced up with cult rituals and human sacrifice. Nostalgic music cues give the film an extra edge, making the whole ride that much more entertaining.
