Gran Turismo (2023)★ 7.2/10

This film really has a lot going for it. For starters, the soundtrack is really great. The storyline did make you feel something, and this film is a rollercoaster of emotions. The racing sequences are very well done and make you really feel like you were there. I have no complaints about the acting, and David Harbour is definitely a standout. My only negative about this film is that it is predictable, but true stories do tend to be predictable, so I was kind of expecting that. If you are a fan of racing, you should definitely go and see this.

Well, “Gran Turismo” is legitimately GREAT! By showcasing the true story of Jann Mardenborough, a gamer who, as the tagline suggests, turns into a racer, Blomkamp has managed to make something truly exhilarating, emotional, and most importantly, entertaining. Technically speaking, the film is flawless. The use of video game aspects mixed with real racing is brilliantly done, and the drone cinematography is top-notch, weaving through the tracks effortlessly, immersing you in the great race sequences, and making my heart pound on various occasions. Archie Madekwe is a good lead. He’s weak at first but really settles in the second half, but David Harbour is the anchor here; he’s phenomenal, and their dynamic is great to watch. Honestly, I’m genuinely shocked by “Gran Turismo”. While it starts off slow, it packs one hell of a punch come its conclusion with its great soundtrack, stunning sound design, and neat cinematography working a treat throughout. It’s one of the biggest surprises of last year. Go check it out!

Es una historia inspiradora muy tradicional; pero la atención debería centrarse en las secuencias de carreras, y esta película tiene muchas secuencias de carreras, lo cual es realmente genial.

A true racing movie rather than a game adaptation. Surprisingly, it's a biopic based on a true story, only the main character's life is changed because of the game. But then again, even with that is there a more perfect game adaptation movie? By transcending the empty dreams of virtual dreams and burning love beyond the screen with real characters, and that's exactly what gaming means to the majority of gamers. Dreams that come true may be few and far between, but after getting tired of the flurry of life, who wouldn't want to go home and blast the gas in a game?

You know deep down where the plot is going, but it's still hard to hide the excitement of getting up at the end. That's the beauty of the sports genre.

The director of District 9 continues to be very impressive. The overall story, while just a simple biopic in nature, is superbly presented visually, plus competitive racing is naturally great to watch!

It's a very traditional inspirational story; but the focus was supposed to be on the racing sequences, and this movie has plenty of racing sequences, which is really cool.

The story is based on a true adaptation. The overall plot is top-notch for a recent movie, with climaxes and highlights that are well choreographed, and it's a landmark movie in the racing genre. Various professional racing scenes in the film, coupled with a high degree of reduction of the race process picture, completely bring the feeling of watching the race live; more with a variety of familiar tracks, it's definitely a feast for racing fans. If you like competitive and speedy movies, you can't miss it.
