Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)★ 8.5/10

One of my favorite spiderman movies

"Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" is a must-watch animated film, offering endless thrills and excitement. It showcases a fantastic universe and the courage and heroism of Spider-Man. If you enjoy sci-fi and surreal stories, this animation will leave you extremely satisfied.

Another visually dazzling film. The technical execution is top-notch, but the script is disappointingly weak, meriting a 7 overall. The vibrant visuals cannot help elevate the imbalanced narrative and clichéd themes. The portrayal of the protagonists' father-son issues feels disjointed; the abstract style and color changes of Gwen's room are visually stunning, but the dialogue is predictable and often overly sentimental, with uninspired action scenes.

Stellar visuals and creativity are marred by a overly draggy third-rate script. Much of the narrative lacks substance, consisting mainly of cool visual effects and drawn-out action sequences. Cutting out the first hour would seemingly have no impact on the story's progression, which is indicative of poor narrative efficiency.

While the visually stunning, the screenplay is disappointing, meriting Spider-Man a 7 out of 10. The dazzling visuals can't distract us from the uneven narrative pace and the clichéd core message. The dialogue and plot are so predictable that they often resort to simply making audiences emotional for the sake of it, and the action scenes are uninspiring as well. It's a pity that such contemporary and cool animation techniques were used to tell a story so dull and shallow.

This was my first contact with the Spider-Verse, and it couldn’t be better. The animation is so beautiful, very colorful; characters are complex but funny at the same time. Miles is the best Spider-Man, can’t wait for the sequel.
