Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (2023)★ 6.9/10

This film has a different style from the previous six films - it's infused with American hip-hop vibes. While continueing the storyline from the earlier films, the collaboration between Autobots and Beasts also introduces a whole new storyline. The movie doesn't solely focus on one leader anymore. This time, Optimus Prime and Optimus Primal share a dual leadership role, bringing a refreshing change. Additionally, plenty of unexpected plot twists are in store for “Transformers” fans.

I have to admit, I was a bit disappointed. The pacing in this movie is so fast that it almost feels like a compilation of TikTok videos. On top of that, the story logic is far from rigorous, and only a few characters deliver solid performances. The whole plot about humans saving the world is the same old cliché. The action scenes are decent, but it's frustrating how the power levels of the characters are constantly adjusted to fit the plot. The special effects are just okay, nothing exceptional. Overall, it's unfortunately too fast-paced and formulaic.

This one is a whole different ball game compared to the previous six films in the series. It's got a hip-hop vibe, continues the earlier storylines, and also kicks off a whole new narrative with the Autobots teaming up with the Maximals. The movie also shifts away from focusing on just one leader, as Optimus Prime and Optimus Primal both take on a dual leadership role, which is a big change. And there are plenty of surprises in store for Transformers fans throughout the film.

This movie is just way too boring. The human scenes drag on and on, and there are so many flaws to nitpick, with some key characters not getting the development they deserve. As a popcorn flick, it just doesn't get me excited at all, feeling like it's just going through the motions. It has lost the realism of the first movie and feels like a dull showcase of special effects in this age of advancement. Overall, it's running out of steam, and it seems like this series doesn't have a future.
