This as a musical is actually pretty good, and I got a little teary when A Whole New World played. Yep, I'm still a huge Disney fan. I mean, the whole princesses revolting one by one is just, like, pretty cool I guess.

The prince on the magic carpet is also a thief. The thief who resists temptation finds love, while the genie who gives his heart earns his freedom. The princess who speaks out can now face any challenge, and the prince who no longer lies finally gets what he desires. With the genie’s help, the monkey masters the drums in an instant, and the prince turns into a handsome man. Under the moonlight, he stands on the magic carpet and says, “Come with me, I’ll show you the world.”

I actually think the movie's better than the animation. Guy Ritchie's really good, and his style fits the story so well.

The film delivers a rollercoaster ride of a storyline, vibrant costumes, and the mysterious allure of the Middle East, creating a fantastical and novel dreamlike viewing experience. The music, infused with Arabic elements and blened with an operatic style and romantic vibes, strikes a deep chord. Robin Williams' voice work is unparalleled.

Overall, it fell short of my expectations. It would have been better to be more faithful to the original work. Disney added too much elements that didn't fully make sense. While the princess is portrayed as being more decisive, it ultimately doesn't escape the "prince and princess" love story trope. I must say, this reinterpretation of the princess's character is quite innovative compared to the original though.

Amazing visuals

Fresh new take on a favorite classic brought all the way up by Will Smith's incredible performance. An all-around enjoyable watch.

Clap your hands to this version!

My favorite ever live action version of a cartoon. I love the improvements they did in the original plot, like Jasmine’s destiny. BTW, Naomi’s solo is astonishing, this song was made for her. I’m really looking forward to watching the sequel. If I had high expectations for this one, imagine how I’m for the second one!

An interesting revival of Genie

Will Smith’s charismatic portrayal of the Genie of the Lamp gives this movie a new twist and fills its story with a unique freshness. Unquestionably, his charm was the element that made this movie feel like a brand new tale.

Will Smith steals the show

In this new interpretation of the Disney animated classic, we can relive one of the most iconic adventures of our childhood, this time with real actors and with Will Smith’s crazy performance as Genie.

Debo decir...

Jazmín me encantó si soy sincera.

Sob o luar, ele sobe no tapete mágico e diz: “Venha comigo, vou te mostrar o mundo.”
