It is too rare for the Oscars to choose a group photography art documentary that refuses a story like this. When documentaries during the Oscar awards season are gradually being defined as re-editing of historical materials and second-hand interviews of news, there is a great need for such a beautiful moving picture that looks like it belongs in the center of contemporary art. Of course, the director hopes that people will still regard it as a documentary. This is a documentary that allows you to concentrate, experience the different ways of watching people, and create pleasure. As a photographer and basketball coach, Rummel is located in the poorest county in the United States. However, there is no discrimination, violence and conflict that we expect in the black community. Instead, he calmly presents the simple sports dreams of young people and the intertwining of family joys and sorrows. But a calm moment of life. It is indeed like flipping through a photography album about Hale County, but accompanied by very present ambient sounds, hip-hop and jazz, which puts people in an ecstatic gospel church and a dusty tire burning plant.
