"The Star Wars" saga really took off with this movie. It's got a complete sci-fi story with a huge universe and some iconic stuff. The visual effects are ahead of their time, and the characters are pretty well-developed. But for me, the movie was a bit of a letdown. Maybe I had too high expectations, and I found it kind of boring. There's not a lot going on, and the action scenes are kind of awkward. The fighting is hit-or-miss and takes away from the movie's fun.

This movie's pacing is a bit of a drag. Those single-camera shots that last 20 minutes each can get pretty tiring. And the alien talk goes on for too long, and it's a lot to take in. The martial arts stuff in the beginning is not very well done. Vader and Obi-Wan's fights look a little weird and feel a bit awkward. But the special effects are insane! I can't believe this came out in 1977. It's amazing.

This movie's art design and production are top-notch. The lead guy is seriously handsome and has great energy as he's always in a good mood. I really dug the tavern scene; it was fast and fun. The opening scene and theme song are classic, but they feel a little out of place when they're just playing in the background. Still, it's a good flick to watch with some popcorn. If there were more sequels, it would be cool to see someone produce a deconstructive movie, which could be really interesting.

It's hard to believe that this is a sci-fi movie from the '70s. While some of the effects may seem dated by today's standards, and the editing style may feel old-fashioned, everything else about it is simply flawless. The world-building, set design, costumes, props, and script are top-notch. Even if we put aside the cosmic and sci-fi elements and just look at it as an entertaining film, it's definitely a standout.

It's incredible to think about how shocked the audience must have been when they watched this movie in 1977. George Lucas created an entirely new sci-fi universe for us, and it's hard to believe that the special effects were made in the '70s! This film not only marked the beginning of a new era but also profoundly influenced countless sci-fi movies. Its significance in the history of sci-fi cinema is truly magnificent.

George Lucas created a world that profoundly influenced mainstream American culture, with its grand portrayal of the universe, the detailed depiction of the Galactic Empire, and the stunning visualization of sci-fi concepts. It led a wave of sci-fi films, yet this debut tells an anti-technology story. The powerful Death Star, driven by desire, and the mystical Force tempering Luke Skywalker’s impulsive nature, reflect humanity's ultimate concerns about itself.

In 1977, audiences were amazed by the groundbreaking special effects. Over 40 years later, the special effects in the original "Star Wars" seem outdated, and the action sequences lack refinement. However, no subsequent "Star Wars" film has matched this one. The prequel trilogy relied too much on fast editing, and their stories were too mediocre, they hold no water against the original trilogy.

The most important space saga

The intergalactic world of "Star Wars" continues to grow even to this day. It is a window into the future to come if humanity surfs the vastness of the galaxy.

A turning point in the special effects' history

In addition to telling one of the most iconic stories in cinema, “Star Wars” won six Oscars out of ten nominations, including Best Picture, and its cultural impact is incalculable.

A before and an after in the history of cinema

Modern special effects would not be possible without the advanced techniques implemented in "Star Wars". A movie not only famous for its technical greatness, but also because it created a fantasy fandom of millions of followers.
