Who would've known Axl Rose was the killer

The concept of “the sex of the angels” is probably about love, desire, and sex that transcends ethics, morality, and societal norms. What’s wrong with three people loving each other and being together? It’s a beautiful notion, though utopian. While such a story would be hard to accept in reality, as a film, it becomes something quite lovely.

“And they lived happily ever after.” I love this fairy-tale ending, the kind that doesn’t happen often but I believe could. The story flows smoothly with a good pacing, and the leads are attractive. The film also brings out a unique group of people's longing for beauty. It's definitely a great film!

This movie is not as gory or horrifying as I initially imagined; it's actually a really good psychological thriller. It builds suspense and keeps you on the edge of your seat with its clever dialogue and tight editing. It takes you on a journey into the minds of these two crazy killers and an FBI agent. Everything about this movie is top-notch. Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster's performances are just the icing on the cake.

This movie really puts you in the shoes of the female protagonist and shows you what it was like for women back then. You can feel their fears and struggles, like trying to climb the social ladder, facing discrimination and threats, and living with this constant feeling of danger, etc. It's not just the perfect execution of storytelling and filming that makes you feel this way, but also the character herself. She's so charismatic that you can't help but feel sorry for her and want to help her.

Director Jonathan Demme does an amazing job of creating a tense, oppressive atmosphere in this movie. It's like you're right there with the characters, feeling everything they're feeling. He really knows how to use the camera and special effects to make a classic psychological thriller. The plot is really well thought out, and the actors all do a great job, so this is definitely a movie you don't want to miss.

This movie is an absolute classic! The cinematography and music are truly top-notch, and the suspense and thrill keep you on the edge of your seat! Jodie Foster looks stunning, and her acting skills are exceptional. Anthony Hopkins delivers a flawless performance! Some moments made me uncomfortable or even a bit anxious. But that's exactly why I greatly admire the female protagonist for handling very well the challenges with her bravery and intelligence!

The story unfolds pretty slowly, much like other films from that era. Maybe it's because I've seen so many films of the same genre that I didn't find anything particularly noteworthy in this one. The only thing that really left an impression on me was the lead actors' excellent performances and the captivating character development. However, overall, it didn't offer anything new or exciting, so I can't say I particularly liked it.

Upon rewatching this movie, I came to realize that it's not necessarily groundbreaking, but it truly maximizes the inherent language of cinema. The settings and camera angles during the dialogue between Clarice and Hannibal, the skillful portrayal of violence and perversity, and the powerhouse performances by Foster and Hopkins all blend seamlessly, creating a natural and captivating masterpiece.

Anthony Hopkins absolutely nails the portrayal of the elegant yet malevolent, terrifying yet charming psychiatrist Dr. Hannibal Lecter in just a brief appearance of a dozen minutes. His performance is truly outstanding, every move and gesture is a work of art. He certainly lives up to being an Oscar winner. Let's give a round of applause for Anthony Hopkins!

The director cleverly blends horror and detective genres, using Hitchcockian-like techniques to build up suspense, and modern psychoanalysis found in horror films to lead the audience into a symbolized subconscious world. The police are compelled to seek help from a serial killer in their pursuit of another, creating a scenario rich with strong and ironic absurdities. Throughout the film, the roots of societal terror are explored, and it is ultimately concluded that the crimes result from "problems within the order itself that in turn cause more threats back to the order," giving the film a certain social significance.

Two gazes - the devious, profound, and wise, as well as the kind, perplexed, and innocent - both reflect their respective confusion about human nature and their conflicting justifications about their inner worlds and immoral behaviors. They thought they knew themselves, and it's perhaps the common ground that drew them to each other!
