The script for this film is beautiful; it works so perfectly in every act that everyone who understands the story is amazed. Everything fits together, the dialogue is incredible, the direction is confident, paying attention to detail in framing, and the cinematography and art direction are impeccable. Nominated for an Oscar.

I've noticed that the best movies always show how much people care about reaching their goals, no matter the cost or hardship. This kind of determination might not make sense to everyone, but it's so brave and strong that it inspires you. Most people don't have that kind of courage and resolve – they're scared to give up a lot for their dreams, and they don't believe in them enough. But if you believe in yourself and know you can do something great, you can break free from where you've been stuck, just like Andy in the movie.

This movie means a lot to me, and I watch it every year. Whenever I'm sad or down, I just turn it on and listen to Morgan Freeman's calm, amazing voice telling the story. It always makes me feel better. Good movies are like your best friends, always there for you no matter what.

Es todo lo entrañable que una película puede ser. Es imposible no conmoverse con cada escena. No hay fallas en la dirección ni la producción.
Lo único que no me convence es que, durante la mayor parte del tiempo, la trama parece no tener rumbo. Pero como todo lo demás es excelente, se pasa por alto totalmente.
