Bona-fide B-ish adventure

Consider how innovative a vision for a movie premise for when this was made, not only from an ecological POV, but also from that of the idea of "the end of the world" and the way of survival thereafter always being something engulfed in flames and brime or whatnot (which, curiously, is much of what we're seeing nowadays regarding dystopic storylines), and how many creative components there are to that storyline, like the pirates, the different societies, etc, and in 1995. That being said, it's not a mindblowing movie in shape or form, it's a cool watch, a worthy adventure movie if only to see how incredibly little Kevin Costner's baby face has changed.
