Some of the film’s most iconic moments are undeniably crude yet undeniably hilarious. I genuinely enjoyed the first half, but things started to spiral out of control as it went on, with a rushed and somewhat sloppy conclusion. The character of Tucker makes no logical sense—why did he spend years hiding his identity and staying close to the protagonist? If he had always been obsessed with Mary, why did he encourage the protagonist to pursue her in the first place?

Without Cameron Diaz’s fantastic performance, this film would have been utterly forgettable. Unfortunately, this rom-com unfolds from the perspective of the men rather than Mary herself. She’s a kind, optimistic, level-headed woman with a clear sense of direction—far too unfortunate to be surrounded by such an idiotic group of suitors. And Matt Dillon’s character? Absolutely insufferable.

Good fun

A favorite comedic series of akward incidents complete with iconic scenes and dialogue. All-around fun.

Absolutamente insoportable.
