An amazing classic. Slow and melodramatic, but it's also very singular and unique. Plus, it's the origin of the term we know today. Pretty cool! Has me walking around saying "Paula" in the creepiest voice possible to absolutely no one. That's what movies are for!

The ending may be predictable early on, but the film thrives not on plot twists, but on the suspenseful journey toward the truth. What makes "Gaslight" exceptional is that it doesn’t ask the audience to piece together a puzzle—it lets them in on the secret, then draws them in with the tension of how it will all unravel.

A classic film about pick-up artists, this film is suffocating in the best possible way. Watching someone slowly weaponize psychological manipulation to dismantle another person’s sense of self is deeply unsettling. But the final act—when Ingrid Bergman’s character awakens and fights back—is nothing short of electrifying. Still, the scars of that prolonged mental torment are not so easily erased.
