Rebel Without a Cause (1955)★ 7.2/10

This movie just goes on and on; it's boring and all about the patriarchal rules of the time. The guys in the film can't stand their dad being weak and unsure, and they definitely don't want him doing housework. And the women are all over their dad, trying to get his attention. It also shows how the group bullies the weak and the main character's supposed rebellion, which are both signs of a society where men are in charge. But that rebellion is weak, making the movie even more boring.

I finally got to see one of the most famous fashion moments in movie history, and it was cool to dive deeper into the world of James Dean. He's more than just a cultural icon – he represents the spirit of his time, and the fact that he died so young, at 24, just adds to his legend. As for the movie, though, I didn't feel super strongly about it. The way it shows a rebel without a cause and the confusion of being young is kind of timeless, but it didn't really hit home for me in today's world.
