Kevin_DunlapAugust 24, 2024Maybe as we get older, we start thinking more about the past and remembering parts of our lives through memories, dreams, and even things that aren't really there, just like the way the characters do. We might look at our family, marriage, kids, and love differently. Whether difficult, happy, sad, or sweet, they're all ours to enjoy. Ingmar Bergman's style is about using symbols and metaphors to reflect on life. In this movie, the older adult's special trip is like a deep reflection of his life.

Charlene_RossAugust 24, 2024What really grabs me in this movie isn't the old professor talking about his past but the big fight between this couple on their trip. The director shows all the anger and resentment that's been building up for a long time, and it's realistic and intense enough to give you chills.
