Calvin_LiuApril 4, 2024It wasn't until the end that I suddenly realized that all those vivid colors, artistic compositions, and instinctive editing were actually a kind of irony. This highly formalistic film mocks the supposed "happiness" of formalism while also expressing a sense of the awakening of female consciousness. If Éric Rohmer had been directing, she probably would have focused more on exploring moral anxieties, but Agnès Varda has a profound understanding of life.

MafaldaApril 4, 2024This movie is a sad ballad about feminism with a pretty ironic title. Agnès Varda shows off her storytelling skills and is just as good as Éric Rohmer, effortlessly and naturally capturing life's difficult times. The vibrant sets and gorgeous costumes are a visual feast! The smart use of quick, sudden edits is managed smoothly despite its abruptness, which is a nice touch of the modern and experimental in the otherwise everyday scenes. All in all, it's really impressive! And it's even more remarkable when you think that Agnès Varda was only 37 when she worked on this film!

No geral, é realmente impressionante!
