The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea (2000)★ 5.9/10

The mermaid mother wants to go on land, while her daughter wants to dive into the sea. That sounds like trouble for sure…

The mother who walked on land and had children with a man keeps her daughter from embracing her true nature. She can't even return to the sea to reunite with her family and friends... Ariel, who dares to defy the odds and pursue her dreams, spent twelve years trapped in such a world? I just can't accept it. In my memory, The Little Mermaid is about freedom, positivity, and bravery—not being trapped by societal expectations.

I'm delighted to recommend this enchanting sequel which beautifully extends the legacy of the original classic, capturing the essence of its magical underwater world. Although i prefer the original, Melody is a beautifully crafted character and i enjoyed it a lot.
