When there’s an elephant in the room, you’re either going to doubt the elephant’s real or question if the room is even real.

It’s like the soothing piano music that plays intermittently throughout the movie—bright sunshine, green lawns, young lives, all the beautiful things, only to end in a massacre. The tension between life’s fleeting end and the director’s subdued narrative style creates a sense of unease that never fully dissipates throughout the film.
