Tokyo Godfathers uses a humorous tone to depict the sorrowful human condition, evoking deep emotional responses from the audience. Throughout their journey, each character confronts and resolves their deepest pains. The seemingly coincidental plot reveals its true power, showing how anyone can become a godfather of redemption for themselves or others.

This film can be called cinematic animation, genuinely observing the downtrodden and capturing their struggles and joys. Kiyoko's miracle reflects the kindness and goodwill of humanity. Christmas here isn't about loudly proclaimed gospels but about the journey of three homeless people searching for a home.

Tokyo Godfather Makes People Believe in Him

9 The production is quite careful, and the plot is connected with each other before and after. Miyuki was still slightly fat before leaving, but now she has lost weight. The introduction of the life experience of the three homeless men also strives to be novel. Although the transitions in the middle are a bit blunt, and the ending is a bit disappointing, but it can be attributed to Kon Min’s personal taste, and maybe he only wanted to make an alternative road movie with a comedy effect, and the touching feelings are just incidental. Barely get five stars and 9 points.
