TTimeless Tales BWApril 27, 2025
This nearly three-hour film isn’t as bad as expected. The cold weapon battles are engaging, and the raw filming techniques are noteworthy. The problem is that many viewers were expecting a heroic outlaw story, but the movie spends too much time on Robin Hood’s origin. What the audience truly cares about is how he robs from the rich to give to the poor—that’s the most compelling part.

This is a pretty standard film for Ridley Scott. But don’t rush to call it mediocre—who knows if a director’s cut will come out in the future?

A thief with bow and arrow

Ridley Scott gives us a slightly darker adaptation of the popular Robin Hood legend, a thief and a master of the bow and arrow, who was played by Russell Crowe from a more mature perspective.
