Hot Tub Time Machine (2010)★ 6.2/10

The story follows a group of disillusioned middle-aged men accidentally thrown back into their pasts, each confronting regrets and missed opportunities. While the setup is about existential comedy, the film takes the easy route, offering wish-fulfillment over depth. It leaves you wondering whether its optimism masks a refusal to grapple with harsher realities.

While the premise is refreshing, the execution feels uninspired. The gags rarely land, and the supposedly uplifting beats lack emotional impact. The film leans heavily on lighthearted chaos, yet much of the comedy falls flat, making it amusing at times but largely forgettable.
