In this movie, the social and historical issues are touched on three times, but the main focus is on attitudes toward life and death. The director has a thing for capturing folk tales; you can also see it in his style. It's like all these elements work as metaphors, and in the end, the story will still delve into social issues and cultural beliefs. What makes Apichatpong Weerasethakul unique is his building this new aesthetics of Southeast Asian mysticism in film, which builds on what the Western filmmakers started. He's a standout in this field, and you can tell he has influenced many filmmakers who came after him.

This movie is mysterious and bizarre; you can't even wrap it up in just one sentence. Some scenes really grab me, and the ending song is just spot on. They do some cool stuff with still images in the second half, which is pretty unique. For me, it doesn't quite measure up to "Tropical Malady" and "Syndromes and a Century," but the ending got to me. Honestly, I'm super curious about what Tim Burton thinks of this film.

Algumas cenas realmente me cativaram, e a música do final é simplesmente perfeita.
