Oz the Great and Powerful (2013)★ 6.4/10

Hands down a terribly underrated movie. This is still to this day, one of my favourite movies. Love the acting and the story.

The first half is pretty boring and draggy with its slow pace and childish plot. But then the second half really hits the mark with plenty of clever details, and the homage paid to The Wizard of Oz really took me by surprise. The climax at the end totally salvaged the whole movie!

Credit where it’s due—the 3D effects and visual effects are undeniably impressive. But beyond that, there’s nothing particularly special here. And the protagonist? Did it even exist in this Disney-style documentary?

Despite the heavy investment, the green screen effects feel glaringly obvious, and the plot drags on for over two hours. The most engaging part might just be the black-and-white prologue, which brims with charm and creativity.

A visually stunning and imaginative adventure, this film transports viewers into a world of wonder. Every frame is meticulously crafted, with intricate details and enchanting elements creating an unforgettable cinematic journey.

A primeira metade é bem chata e arrastada, com seu ritmo lento e enredo infantil. Mas então a segunda parte realmente acerta o alvo com muitos detalhes inteligentes, e a homenagem a O Mágico de Oz realmente me pegou de surpresa. O clímax no final redimiu o filme inteiro!

O crédito onde é devido: os efeitos 3D e os efeitos visuais são inegavelmente impressionantes. Mas, além disso, não há nada particularmente especial aqui. E o protagonista? Existia mesmo neste documentário estilo Disney?

Pero luego, la segunda mitad da en el clavo con muchos detalles ingeniosos, y el homenaje que se le rinde a El mago de Oz realmente me sorprendió. ¡El punto culminante al final salvó completamente a toda la película!

Aplausos para lo que se lo merece: los efectos 3D y visuales son innegablemente impresionantes. Pero más allá de eso, no hay nada particularmente especial aquí. ¿Y el personaje principal? ¿Siquiera existió en este documental al estilo Disney?

Sin duda una de las películas más infravaloradas que he conocido en mi vida. Lo vi en su tiempo y me pareció increíble, la volví a ver y me sigue pareciendo increíble.

La ambientación, los efectos especiales, las actuaciones, la historia, todo fue manejado a la perfección. Quizás la esté alagando demasiado, pero realmente la considero una película recomendable para la franquicia del El Mago de Oz...

A pesar de la fuerte inversión, los efectos de pantalla verde resultan sumamente obvios y la trama se prolonga durante más de dos horas. La parte más atractiva quizás sea el prólogo en blanco y negro, que rebosa de encanto y creatividad.
