Wonderfully crafted by Quentin Tarantino. Definitely has his trademarks and Jamie Foxx does a spectacular job as Django.

Quentin Tarantino skillfully merges the American Western genre with the theme of slavery, setting the story two years before the Civil War. This fantastical and unique setting is a hallmark of Tarantino's work, showcasing both his strengths and weaknesses. The film contains some unnecessary dialogue, but the climactic indoor gunfight is strikingly memorable. Django's final act of rescuing his wife transforms him into a true black cowboy hero.

1. Django with a silent D is not a slave; Django-hushD is a freeman. I don't understand Samuel, in a way I do, for he's the "supreme slave," occasionally getting his moment if his master is too dumb. I admire the Doctor, the man who turns Django into the fastest blood-thirsty lion, but he still can't see a black slave being eaten alive. So I say Django doesn't have a white master, but he did have a white mentor, a very cool one.

Revisionist western that ticks all the boxes

Quentin Tarantino does it again. A thrilling western that tells an emotional story that is filled with love, revenge, lots of violence and it's signature Tarantino idiosyncrasies. A must watch.

DiCaprio shines before the camera

Although he is not the protagonist of the story, Leonardo DiCaprio steals all the looks more than half of the movie with his interpretation of the villain Calvin J. Candie. One of the wildest roles in his filmography.

The chain breaker

"Django" is one of the rawest movies ever made about slavery that uses the classic cowboy figure to delve into one of the darkest times of American history.

Humor and violence

With the purpose of tackling the most overlooked topics of the western genre, such as slavery and the acceptance of violence, in “Django” we can watch a novel version of the “outlaw cowboy”, typical of this genre.
