With Bo Peep’s return, "Toy Story" completes a transformation of values. No longer just toys waiting to be chosen by kids, they now have the agency to choose their own paths—even creating their own lives away from owners. When Woody reunites with Bo Peep, he chooses to follow his heart rather than stay with his owner, reflecting a newfound sense of freedom. This represents a broader message about self-discovery and the liberty to make one’s own choices.

Just when everyone thought "Toy Story 3" was the pinnacle, Pixar maintained its high standards with the fourth installment, proving once again why they’re the best in the business. Even toys aren’t immune to the anxieties of changing times. The new characters are hilarious, and even the antagonist is compelling enough to be likable.

"Toy Story 4" diverges significantly from the worldview of the first three films. Previously, the toys were cautious in their interactions with the human world, acknowledging their artificial nature and adhering to a higher logic similar to the Three Laws of Robotics. However, in this installment, toys engage in conflict with humans recklessly, such as when they lead Bonnie's parents to the carnival or cause a car crash with a skunk. This development suggests that toys with "free will" like Bo Peep could lead to a scenario where all toys are treated by humans as viruses or bacteria to be eradicated.

"Toy Story 3" was nearly perfect, leading to expectations that "Toy Story 4" might not live up to its predecessors. Surprisingly, it maintains the high standards of the series. Woody and Bo Peep's romance from the first film continues to evolve, and the toys imitating GPS voices are a delightful nod to the original. The film pays homage to its predecessors while creating new ideas. It steps beyond the existential crisis of toys being abandoned or neglected. "Toy Story 4" introduces the idea that just as humans can choose their toys, toys can also choose their owners.

Just when everyone thinks Toy Story 3 is the peak of the series, Disney creates something new, which is really impressive. Even as toys, they also have to accept the sense of danger brought about by the changing times, and even more ironically, their opponent is a hand-made toy that considers himself as "trash". The new characters are hilarious, and the villain is surprisingly appealing, but Woody's choice to "find himself" at the end is the most moving part of the movie.

The 4th movie in the series completely deviates from the worldview of the first three. In the first three movies, the toys are very careful in their interactions with the human world. Though they were alive, the higher order logic dictates that they are actually man-made, so they have to, somewhat inaccurately, abide by the Three Laws of Robotics. In the 4th movie, the toys conflict with humans directly, which makes me kinda uncomfortable, because if toys with "free will" like Bo Peep continue to develop, all the toys might get treated like viruses and bacteria, wiped out by humans in the end.

Toy Story 4:Nice job!

It is enough to make me laugh, but it can still make me cry. Nice job!

Made An Unworthy Continuation of a Great Work

American-style toy figures are perfect for horror movies, shadowy wellsprings of childhood memories. Where is Lotso? It's been so long since the last sequel, I've forgotten where the cute villain Lotso went to. The fork Forky in the fourth part is very annoying.

It could have been different

I’ve always loved the franchise, but the end of this one bothered me a lot: it was heartbroken seeing Woody saying goodbye to the other toys and going with Bo Peep. Honestly, this is not a bad movie, but I’d prefer if they had stopped at the third one.

The end of the story

The fourth movie of "Toy Story" is the perfect closure to Woody’s story. A film full of humor, friendship and the most revolutionary special effects in today’s animation.
