This is an intricate story. It's heartwarming, yet filled with tension arising from betrayals of trust and loyalty between both parties. It's only when Caesar reluctantly acknowledges that war is inevitable that I realize these 130 minutes are practically a re-enactment of historical events. The most touching moment for me is when Caesar revisits his old cabin, tearing up as he reminisces about the past with tears.

I would give it a 7 out of 10. On first look, it kinda reminded me of "Battle for the Planet of the Apes". But delving deeper into the story reveals that it almost has a narrative core similar to that of “Hamlet”. This movie focuses on the clash between four factions of two species. However, no one emerges victorious in the end, both on the battlefield and in the mind. The worldview and logic structure of the original pentalogy have already been reinstated in the trilogy reboot started in 2001.

7 out of 10. While the story is about apes, the underlying message is really about trust and betrayal between people. The film aims to create a feeling of epicness by incorporating a much larger and grimmer worldview, which also lays the groundwork for an even bigger story in the next installment. Motion capture technology is definitely the star of the show, as I literally couldn't tell if the apes I was seeing were real or CGI. It's truly impressive. However, the story could have been done better, because I didn't see any particularly amazing moments. Overall, the film feels a bit restrained. It has a grand scale but doesn't quite hit the emotional highs of the first movie.

I regret paying for the movie. The story is so draggy and boring. The special effects are okay, but they couldn't save the film from the bland story. The logic behind the story felt weak and the whole sci-fi aspect wasn't treated seriously unlike the previous movies in the series. It drowns you in this superficial sentimentality. What's even worse is the annoying baby who just doesn't shut up. I literally couldn't take it.

It’s a meticulously detailed and heartwarming film that tells a story of trust, loyalty, and betrayal. I realized that the whole film had been trying to show us the true nature of war the moment Caesar unwillingly acknowledged that war is inevitable. With this notion, the film eventually reached its climactic moment. The most touching part for me is when Caesar returns to his childhood home where some of his most fond memories were formed, at which point he can no longer hold back his tears. It was truly an emotional moment in the film.

The script is so good! The topic of xenophobia and discrimination is definitely the underlying theme of this film. If you were to draw an analogy between the conflict between humans and apes with one between two religions, you would see just how clear the message is. Some conflicts truly seem irreconcilable. Whether the ape is named Nietzsche or Caesar, humans never let go.

Fight for control

Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman and Keri Russell join "The Planet of the Apes" saga in this second issue. The story of this movie confronts two sides for the control of the planet.

Behavioral analysis

Andy Serkis takes his interpretation of the intelligent ape Caesar to the next level in "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes", a role where he had to combine human and ape behavior into one.

The best reinterpretation of the saga

Based on the homonymous successful saga, this reinterpretation works as a reminder of how easily nature can be pushed into claiming its rightful reign on Earth.
