Rawest of raws

And I mean *raw*. Not a light or easy watch by any means (and I don't mean because of how long it is), and extremely dramatic to the point of exhaustion at times- what's intriguing is, it's still so well composed, somehow we still find serenity in it.

I'm so conflicted about this.

How can it be possible that a film that has such a beautiful, complex and trascendental use of dialogue and cinematic language crumble down with 15mins worth of explicit sex. Yeah, you heard that right. 15 MINUTES!! I've watched porn films that are shorter than that. You can even find compilations of the scenes on websites of the likes of Pornhub and XVideos. If you've watched it you'll know what I'm talking about, and if you haven't proceed with caution if you're watching it in the living room of your house with your family members walking around (that was my case). It truly is a beautiful film that has a very distinctive french stamp (for those who are into that). And even though I understand now the meaning of that scene and why it is useful to the narrative, I guess it comes down to matter of personal taste that under my judgement butchered down the film from a 9 to a 7.
