Juan_bellApril 20, 2024Director James Wan surpasses expectations once again. You have to admit that even though he constantly resuses many of his techniques, they are never boring. Instead, they allow us to thoroughly enjoy the extreme fright that stem from watching a good horror film. Watching a new film from this series annually seems to have become our new horror ritual with James Wan.

Turn on the lights when you should! Who says there are no ghosts during the day? The climax doesn't have to be scheduled at the end of the movie! It scares audiences hard when it should, and this is the most admirable thing about the "The Conjuring" series. That's also exactly why James Wan has made horror movies less drawn-out and dull; the films' pacing are tight and the numerous scares are effective. There's nothing new about the story, but the horror elements are on the next level. On the bed and under the blanket is no longer the most secure place in childhood.

thinkmillerNovember 3, 2023All-round amazing. I can tell that the director has put a lot of effort into designing the scares, which are almost three times as many and intense as the previous film. His mastery of camera language and timing are at their peak, the highest to date, which makes the unaspiring story theme seem even less prominent. Although the plot is not touching enough, it is still undoubtedly entertaining as a horror movie.
