Logan (2017)★ 8.2/10

This film transcends beyond merely servicing fans, as it resonates deeply on a emotional level, touching upon themes of aging heroes and the passage of time. The stark reality of these themes is difficult to accept when presented so vividly, especially given the admirable history of the characters. The film's impact is significant, not because it's flawless but because it feels as though a part of our world has crumbled.

"Logan" is the Wolverine's rendition of "Léon: The Professional," with its plot and pacing feeling somewhat mundane. However, the emotional impact of the final scene is profound, illustrating that superheroes, too, face the inevitability of life's end, with no possibility of a turnaround or recovery after their final battle.

The unequivocal evolution of a static genre: superheroes. Logan tells the ending of a hero; he takes us to where legends go to die.
It links different genres, Western to superhero, creating something genuinely new and great.
His strength resides in the ability to disengage from cinematic universes and sequels to give a film that is unique in itself.

The film is aimed at a more mature audience and addresses issues such as illness, old age and responsibility from the mutants' point of view, as well as making a great closure to the 17 years of stories that defined Hugh Jackman as Wolverine before the world.

Hugh Jackman’s last movie performing Wolverine is one of the deepest and rawest movies of the superhero genre. A journey of no return to immortality.

With a violent story focused on exploring the long trip into old age, the movie allows us to catch a glimpse at the impact that years of service can have on the body and mind of superheroes.
