Sonic the Hedgehog (2020)★ 6.9/10

It the usual entertaining and family-friendly movie. The plot is straightforward—Sonic, having unimaginable speeds yet lonely at heart, battles the villain with his human friend, eventually becoming close companions. Sonic's portrayal is akin to The Flash, and the movie gives nods to The Flash and Speed. Jim Carrey's effort to add depth to his stereotypical villain pays off, enhancing the film's appeal.

A surprisingly decent video game adaptation. The family-friendly plot is quite enjoyable, Sonic is well-portrayed, and Jim Carrey's exaggerated style of performance adds much charm. Overall, it's a pleasant watch.

It's honestly better than I expected. When you are able to accept the criticism of the fans and rectify before presenting the final product, the overall performance is much better.

I’ve been playing Sonic since I was a child, it was definitely my favorite video-game. When they first announced this movie, I tried not to create any expectations, and it ended up being a great surprise. James Marsden and Jim Carrey are great as Tom and Dr. Robotnik respectively, their interactions with the hedgehog are hilarious. I can’t wait for a sequel since it ended in an awesome cliffhanger.

The favorite blue hedgehog of video games fans finally is on the big screen in a fun and full of speed adventure. One of the best video games film adaptations.

Exciting and fun, this is a movie for the whole family. A story that teaches us that sometimes limits are inside us, waiting to be pushed by our will.

Our cherished blue hedgehog was saved from a terrible design and landed safe and sound in a fun exciting movie. The great execution and hard work on the special effects make this film one of the best movies based on video games.

This film embarks us on an adventure where fun is on the road and not on the finish line. Instead of telling a novel story, the movie invites us to hang out with Sonic and to laugh at his jokes and great personality.

bien
