Ben Wheatley’s MEG 2 is the PADDINGTON 2 of SPEED 2 movies. What started as a slower, choppier first half, pretty much like any big-budget Sharksploitation, turns into pure cinematic madness in the last 45 minutes, as if Ben started winning edit fights for goofy insanity for all of his crazy ideas. The second half is pure madness, with some inventive shots and sequences, offbeat humor, and some GREAT shark attack moments. I hope the “inside the mouth” moment was what got him the gig, because that was amazing. I really enjoyed it especially when it got more whackadoo. My dream of a true Statham Roller Coaster has come true thanks to the 4DX… This is the perfect Junkfood Cinema podcast movie, and that’s high praise.

It's so much better than the first movie, and the obvious mistakes have gotten significantly less. The biggest problem is that the drama is so clichéd that it's really just a middle-of-the-road, meritless popcorn movie with no surprises at all.

Very exciting and stress relieving. The chemistry between Wu Jing and Jason Statham is full on, and their mutual choices and trust in each other throughout the movie make for an unparalleled and superbly executed battle, showing us that this unspoken understanding has transcended any differences or barriers.
