The DCOctober 5, 2025
The DCOctober 5, 2025On one hand, I loved the deep dive into the legal, historical, personal aspects of the Chuschagasta community. The way the doc uses the story of the murder case to explore the history of the community from Colonial times until the present is amazing. On the other hand, the film lost a lot of momentum halfway through, when we are shown old pictures of the people in the community. I understand the reason they're there, but they completely mess with the flow of the story.

I'm really conflicted over this one. the subject matter is relevant and captured with grace and attention that was well deserved. on the other hand, there was so much content without much organization. I found it overly long and tiring after the first 70-80 minutes. Nevertheless, there are some incredible narrations/interviews, beautifully scanned and presented archival material, and a cohesive and somewhat unexpected ending.
